Mike — Dad
Uncool. Embarrassing. Suspiciously useful. The family has learned not to bet against him.

Never count Dad out.
Dad said he can handle it. This might actually be true.
Mike looks like your standard-issue suburban dad.
Cargo shorts. Garage full of junk. Terrible jokes. Strong opinions about thermostats.
You know this guy.
Or at least you think you do.
Dad’s going to fix it himself. Oh boy.
Dad says he knows a shortcut. Here we go.
Dad says, “Funny story, I actually know a guy...”
Wait. Dad knows a guy?
Because every once in a while, somewhere between the bad jokes and the reading glasses, the old man casually reveals that he knows exactly what he’s doing.
Don’t act so surprised.
Dad’s still got it.

Uncool. Embarrassing. Suspiciously useful. The family has learned not to bet against him.

Mike’s wife, partner, and the person least surprised when one of his ridiculous stories turns out to be true.

Dad is absolutely not cool. This would be much easier to maintain if Dad would stop doing cool things.

Still thinks her dad is awesome. Finally, someone around here is paying attention.
